Managing treated water supply is almost the same all over the world. It takes 3 elements to make treated water reach the consumers premises. There are raw water (untreated at river, dam and catchment areas), water treatment plants and water distribution network. What politician in Selangor focus or misled the public is they only talk about the first part claiming abundant of raw water including the like of klang river; and the 3rd component whom they claim the old pipes always burst, leaks causing high NRW rate and causing treated water shortage. By comparing these 2 elements, it make sense but misleading because one is raw water and the one is treated water. They simply ignore the choking points that is water treatment which facing insufficient capacity. The state goverment conveniently ignore the 2nd component because it is their obligation to eliminate the choke. So in order to divert public attention, blow up the issues more on overflowing dam vs high NRW...how come we have abundance water at dam but we dont get water at home. You what I mean..half truth story for political reason.
